Thirty earthmoving machines were announced for Lofa County at a ceremony in Voinjama on October 23. A week later, residents reported seeing 15 machines in Foya and 11 in Voinjama — a total of 26.
On November 3, the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee clarified that four machines from Lofa, together with equipment from other counties, had been temporarily deployed to support operations elsewhere. The committee said all equipment remained accounted for and under supervision.
The clarification addresses the count, but residents are entitled to ask where the four machines are working, which projects they are supporting, and when they will return to Lofa. The available information does not establish that any machine was stolen or permanently missing.
Questions that still need answers
- Where exactly are the four temporarily deployed machines operating?
- What projects are they supporting outside Lofa?
- Who is responsible for tracking their deployment and return?
- When will the machines be brought back to support Lofa’s development priorities?
Public accountability requires clear records of where public equipment is assigned, what work it performs and when it is returned. HeartTalk Network will continue following the issue and seeking verifiable updates.
