Liberia’s memorial service brought together remembrance, reflection and a renewed commitment to protecting future generations from the horrors of war. Organised and attended by the President of Liberia, the service honoured those who suffered and those whose lives were lost during the country’s painful conflict years.

This HeartTalk Network compilation brings together several moments and reflections from the programme, including a call to make remembrance more than a monument to the past: a covenant with the future. The message is clear—dignity for victims, remembrance for survivors, and a shared responsibility to ensure that no child has to endure what previous generations experienced.

As Liberia reflects on its history, the challenge is to turn remembrance into lasting commitments to peace, justice, reconciliation and the protection of every generation to come.
